{"id":115,"date":"2013-06-04T01:12:10","date_gmt":"2013-06-04T01:12:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.reflexologiemarine.com\/en\/?p=115"},"modified":"2013-09-20T12:36:36","modified_gmt":"2013-09-20T16:36:36","slug":"originereflexologie","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.reflexologiemarine.com\/en\/originereflexologie\/","title":{"rendered":"What are the origins of Reflexology?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">This question remains to this day.\u00a0 Could it be an archetypal form of therapy found everywhere in the world?\u00a0 That is what I think.\u00a0 As Christine Issel writes in her very interesting book:\u00a0 Reflexology: Art, Science &amp; History \u00ab no one culture can claim to have \u201cdiscovered\u201d reflexology because different forms of working on the feet to effect health have been used by people all over the world since the beginning of time. \u00bb\u00a0 Examples of foot work in the form of pictures or statues have been found in India, Japan, China and Europe but no written documentation has yet been discovered.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">The oldest documentation that could be interpreted as depicting the use of reflexology is found in Egypt, in the towns of Giza and Saqqara.\u00a0 In Saqqara, in the tomb of the highest official after the Pharaoh, the physician Ankhmahor, we find carved on one of the six walls, a scene representing a practice of reflexology<\/span>.<\/p>\n<address>(See figure 1.)<\/address>\n<address><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-113\" title=\"EgyptReflexologyLarge\" alt=\"EgyptReflexologyLarge\" src=\"http:\/\/www.reflexologiemarine.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/EgyptReflexologyLarge.jpg\" width=\"822\" height=\"422\" \/><\/address>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\">According to the Papyrus Institute in Cairo and A.
